Hi all its me again.

Building a 1989 zx7r fighter and some one has told me that the zx9r stainless exhaust down pipes will bolt straight on, can any one confirm this.

The ZX9R exhaust system fits only at the J/k and L/M models... These are the model years from 1991 to 1995...

the question is - from which ZX9R - you`re writing about stainless steel but the exhaust system from `94-`97 (ZX9B-model) isn`t a stainless steel one at all!
If you`re talking about a stock exhaust system it could be from a later model.

I can`t remember anybody writing about later ZX9R exhaust system fitting to the `89 ZXR models!
So maybe you have to check on your own, what is possible. In my opinion it won`t fit `cause your ZXR has the "steering-chain" in the middle between cylinder 2 and 3 and afaik have the newer engines the chain located on the right side.

If you`ve got any question don`t hesitate to ask - but I`m not specialised neither on the H-model,nor on the ZX9R, sorry

nothing fits on the '89 zxr.
except 89/90 zxr parts.
Because of the longer distance between cyl. 2+3.
(i think u're talking about the pipes, not the silencer)
Silencers are compatible between all models.

If you are working on a J Modell the Pipes from a ZX9 (94-96), called "B" will fit the far I know...

We arrive on Thursday, so will be there, Friday and Saturday and Sunday, It is the best bike show in Europe

This will be my 4th year

Have just purchased a zx9r down pipe and should arrive tommorrow


Just hope it fits
